PG and Research Department of Zoology
B. Sc., Zoology was started as an Under Graduate programme in 1968- 1969 and obtained Post Graduate status in 2003-2004. To its feather the part-time and full-time Ph.D. Research degree in Zoology was started in 1997- 1998 and it becomes a full-pledged research department with the inception of M.Phil. full-time programme in 2008 – 2009. P.G and Research Department of Zoology is one of the pillars to the college with the dedicated band of staff members.

Since 2006 our faculty members are awarded 9 major research projects worth of 105 lakhs, this definitely speaks about the strength of our department. 7 of our staff members are qualified for guiding students. 35 students are doing Ph.D. Research in the department and 14 students are awarded Ph.D. degree from this department.
We are maintaining a garden for our students to carry on research in culture aspects like Apiculture, Aquaculture, Sericulture, Moriculture and Vermiculture.
PG and Research Department of Zoology is having 10 Staff members. Four of our faculty are in Associate Professor grade and remaining seven others are working as Assistant Professors. Seven faculty members are Doctorates and qualified Research guides. Faculty members are specialized in varied potential areas in Zoology like Mosquito control, Nematology, Sericulture, Entomology, Seri-biotechnology, Microbiology, Phytopharmacology, Aquaculture, Molecular Genetics, Immunology, Radiation biology, Fishery biology and Aquatic entomology
