1965-66

Establishment of College ( 24-08-1965 ) – Affiliated to Madras University, Chennai.

1966-67

B.A. Economics and B.Sc. Mathematics were introduced.

1967-68

Establishment of Main Hostel.

1967-68

B.Sc.Physics and B.Sc. Chemistry were established.

1968-69

B.Sc. Zoology and B.Sc. Geography were started.

1970-71

B.A.History, M.A.English, M.A.History were established.

1971-72

B.A.Tamil Literature, M.Com were introduced.

1978-79

M.Sc. Mathematics was established.

1980-81

B.Sc. Statistics was introduced.

1982-83

Affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.

1987-88

Ph.D. Programmes in Commerce and History

1989-90

Classes were conducted by the Semester system.

1990-91

25 YEARS (SILVER JUBILEE).

1993-94

B.Sc. Computer Science programme was introduced.

1994-95

M.A. Applied Economics, Ph.D.(Statistics) in Part-time,
M.Phil. (Statistics) Part-time and Full-time were started.

1995-96

M.Sc. Statistics, M.Sc. Applied Physics, PG Dip in Fisheries.

1997-98

Ph.D. Zoology was started as Full-Time programme.

1998-99

Attained Autonomous Status , College becomes Co-educational.

2000-01

Accredited by NAAC with three star (***).
Computer Literacy Programme (CLP) started for all First UG

2005-06

Ph.D. Economics (Full-Time) was established.

2006-07

Granted Extension of Autonomous Status.
The College was re-accredited (2nd Cycle) by NAAC with B+.
