Thanthai Periyar Government Arts and Science College in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, has an active National Cadet Corps (NCC – Army wing ) unit. The NCC plays a crucial role in instilling discipline, leadership, and a sense of service among the youth.
The variety of training and activities such as army training, military history, first aid, self-defense, fire fighting, field craft, map reading, judging distances, civil defense, and the usage of arms, all contribute to the holistic development of the cadets. This training not only equips them with valuable life skills but also fosters a sense of responsibility and patriotism.
The NCC’s emphasis on discipline and leadership can indeed contribute to a stronger and more service-oriented India. It’s a commendable effort by our college to be a part of this initiative and prepare young cadets for various challenges and opportunities in the future. the company is functioning with 62 boys and 42 female with the total of 104 dynamic and energetic cadets under the leadership of Caption P. Arockia Sahayaraj , Associate professor of chemistry as an Associate NCC Officer (ANO). Recently our cadet M.Lakshmanan ,III year computer science has won two gold medals in the state level shooting competition held at Madurai Rifle club, Tamil nadu.
